Pope In Action

I found this figure of the late Pontiff John Paul II while searching for Paul Pope's artbook, Pulphope, and thought it was rather interesting. The notion that this is an "action" figure is ironic, right? It's more of an inspiration or reflection figure. Apparently the same company producers figures of Jesus, JFK, Moses, Nixon, Churchill and others. Most seem to have voicechips, but I'm not sure if Jesus does, or who would be doing his voice. John Paul II comes in "period correct" clothing, which was probably difficult, as pontifical fashions change every Fall. Still, you can't beat classic white. An Amazon customer gave the figure five stars, and noted he uses it in all his Bible study classes (because why rely just on the Bible when there are toys of old men to put the points across), and he is patiently awaiting a figure of Samson, because...who knows why? What does Samson have to say to anyone? He was kind of an idiot, right? I guess the Samson figure would be perfect for a sermon on resisting the power of the pussy.
