Bonus Beats

Ate too much barbecued pork tonight and finished the next Breakdowns, which is necessarily shorter than the 3,000 words of last week. In fact, it's a little under the 1,500 words I'd set as my weekly goal, but better to be happy with it than pad it out, and I do need to get back to this essay I'm working on.

And let’s not even get into the fact that these are called specialty shops for a reason. I realize I’m not attuned to the plastic model world, but I kind of don’t think the remaining hobby shops in the country grouse too much about Targets and Wal-Marts offering the same red 1:32 scale Corvettes they offer, you know? They know the serious hobbyist may get that Corvette, HO train or F-16 at the other place, but come to their shop for more choices, more expertise, better service, and all the supplies they need.
