Madcapastrophe

Mom and stepdad are in town as of today, so I'm taking tomorrow off from work and taking the kids out of preschool to go out to breakfast, then Belmont Park, a small place on Mission Beach where there's a little but fun roller coaster and other attractions and videogames. Should be a fun day and a fun weekend, and honestly, having the unconditional love of Mom around for a few days will be nice, as I've been pretty down this week. Not too bad today, even though a beautiful woman I asked out turned me down. Seems that she's still embroiled in a messy divorce, messier than mine, to be sure, so I can only take her at her word. She was very nice about it, though. I'll chat with her when I see her at preschool (her daughter's in my son's class), but obviously the last thing she needs is another pushy guy in her life.

I just dozed off for a few minutes with my fingers on the keyboard, so I'll cut this short. New BREAKDOWNS column at Comic Book Galaxy within hours of this post, I think, covering Nat Turner, Firestorm, Shaun of the Dead, Street Angel and the R. Crumb Handbook. The review that gave me the most trouble probably isn't the one you'd think.

Walt & Skeezix arrived in the mail today, so that MAY be next week in the column. 'Course, ADD always gets to the important books before me, the bastid. Have a good weekend.
