quick

Not much to report. Last night I watched a great Padres game and unwisely had just chips and salsa to eat, washed down by two beers, then visited a buddy and had a couple more and some Merlot, too. Not a good idea during the week, especially with all the overtime I'm working. Bad Padres game tonight. Ironed some shirts, wrote a review for this week's Breakdowns, as well as the end-column commentary, and I'm not quite up to 1,000 words. Need to wrap up by tomorrow, too, so I expect this will be a bit shorter column, which is to be expected now that I'm weekly. It'll be fine, though. So far, so good.

Received Dan Clowes' ICE HAVEN the other day from Amazon, but apparently the R. CRUMB HANDBOOK, SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD (or whatever it's called) and BATMAN ANIMATED VOL. 2 are all on order??? Come on, Amazon. I had to finally cancel my order for DAVID BORING, as it never came in stock over the course of three months. Not sure what's up with that. Discount Comic Book Service sent me a couple floppies this week, plus the STREET ANGEL and CAPTAIN AMERICA'S BICENTENNIAL BATTLES trades. ICE HAVEN tonight before bed, at least a bit of it, and then probably STREET ANGEL by next week. Night!

Thanks, Douglas. I'm pretty darn satisfied with DCBS, though, and their tpbs and HCs are also at least 30%-50% off as well.
