Tar Heeling

Good finale to the NCAA basketball tourney tonight. I was rooting for Illinois, but had not real problem with UNC winning.

Listened to more of the new New Order cd, and it holds up. No real theme to it beyond middle-aged Barney Sumner worrying about his lack of self-control, but it seems to work all right for him. Musically, these guys make it seem so easy, spinning endless, small variations on their winning trademark elements.

I wrote pages 4-6 of IRREGULAR JOE #3 tonight, which went pretty well. 4-5 was a scene where we get some background/motivation on our female lead, and I thought it worked all right but it's not anything particularly surprising. 6, and 7, which I started and which will end the scene, are more mostly silent horrors of a WWII atrocity site. It's disturbingly easy to come up with suitable images. Time for bed.
