Live A Little, Love A Little, Eat A Lot, Take Drugs, Die On Toilet

No work done tonight, nor is much planned. I have to finish my pull list for the comic shop and find where I put my W-2, maybe update my iPod. I started PERSEPOLIS 2 yesterday and love it--almost done. It's even better than the first, which I wasn't expecting. I'm also reading the AL WILIAMSON: HIDDEN LANDS book and that bestseller about grammar, EATS, SHOOTS & LEAVES. However, I did do a quick, fun little exercise involving Elvis Presley movies. It's not really a game, just a time-waster. I took his filmography from www.imdb.org and tried to guess from the character name what sort of character he played. I have no intention of finding out which ones I was right about. Who cares?

Change of Habit (1969) .... Dr. John Carpenter (doctor, obviously. I think he's involved with Mary Tyler-Moore as a nun in this one, hence the title)
The Trouble with Girls (1969) .... Walter Hale (hmm, not a very macho name. some kind of businessman?)... aka The Chautauqua ... aka The Trouble with Girls (and How to Get Into It)
Charro! (1969) .... Jess Wade (Western--sounds like a guy who can throw a punch. Perhaps a half-breed)
Live a Little, Love a Little (1968) .... Greg Nolan (pussy)
Speedway (1968) .... Steve Grayson (race car driver)
Stay Away, Joe (1968) .... Joe Lightcloud (certainly a half-breed. never heard of this film--what a title!)
Clambake (1967) .... Scott Heyward/'Tom Wilson' (dual role? maybe he acted like another person to get one gal off his back, or to date two)
Double Trouble (1967) .... Guy Lambert (involved with twins?)
Easy Come, Easy Go (1967) .... Lt. (j.g.) Ted Jackson (military)
Spinout (1966) .... Mike McCoy (race car driver)
Paradise, Hawaiian Style (1966) .... Rick Richards (maybe an entertainer at a Hawaiian hotel)Frankie and Johnny (1966) .... Johnny (I think Frankie was the girl)
Harum Scarum (1965) .... Johnny Tyronne (must be a real tough guy with that name)... aka Harem Holiday
Tickle Me (1965) .... Lonnie Beale (Another one I haven't heard of. Lonnie sounds like a good-time guy apt to strum a guitar at a campfire, on a picnic blanket, any ol' place)
Girl Happy (1965) .... Rusty Wells (don't drink anything from Rusty Wells!)
Roustabout (1964) .... Charlie Rogers (carny)
Viva Las Vegas (1964) .... Lucky Jackson (gambler. For those keeping score, one of maybe 3 or 4 watchable Elvis films)... aka Love in Las Vegas (International: English title)
Kissin' Cousins (1964) .... Josh Morgan/Jodie Tatum (cousins--one black haired, one brown)
Fun in Acapulco (1963) .... Mike Windgren (vacationing philanderer. I bet he never actually says his last name in the film)
It Happened at the World's Fair (1963) .... Mike Edwards (guy who bangs a girl at the World's Fair)
Girls! Girls! Girls! (1962) .... Ross Carpenter (guy beset by horny broads)
Kid Galahad (1962) .... Walter Gulick (boxer?)
Follow That Dream (1962) .... Toby Kwimper (Retarded?)
Blue Hawaii (1961) .... Chad Gates (I dunno...sugar cane crop duster?)
Wild in the Country (1961) .... Glenn Tyler (cowboy)
Flaming Star (1960) .... Pacer Burton (cowboy. I think he gave a pretty sincere performance in this one)
G.I. Blues (1960) .... Tulsa McLean (G.I., and brother of Oklahoma City McLean)
King Creole (1958) .... Danny Fisher (Ragin' Cajun)
Jailhouse Rock (1957) .... Vince Everett (jailbird who sings that rock. this is the other sure-fire Elvis film)
Loving You (1957) .... Jimmy Tompkins (Deke Rivers) (a punk who becomes a big singing star. I remember this one. A real heel. This one's all right)
Love Me Tender (1956) .... Clint Reno (less of a heel)
