American City of Elf God

Just got done watching City of God, the Brazilian crime film from last year. It really is excellent, a nicely twisting gangster story with a bit more story to go with its style than most. I also finally finished James Kochalka's American Elf, collecting about five years of his daily comic strip. Now that he does them in color, that's my preference, but the cumulative effect of this work is wonderful, snapshots of an interesting, creative, loving, odd life.

Technically, I DID write today--the first day's worth (3 whole panels) of PHANTOMCAT. Much fun. Going to sleep now and hope to begin SUPERUNKNOWN #2 tomorrow night, getting back into the two-pages-a-day groove.
