Work Journal 1/23

Only one page tonight. Sunday's usually a mellow day, and between taking the kids to the Wild Animal Park and my dad staying with me all week long, I was pretty beat.

Had a nice dinner with my dad at a restaurant in Encinitas called Savory. My dad had had a few drinks earlier in the evening, and that may have contributed to him deciding to affect a Spanish/Italian accent with the greeter and wait staff. The greeter was absolutely gorgeous and bought it all the way. It was actually rather instructive, in that it showed that confidence is what life is all about, and that perhaps women are looking for romance and sometimes it takes something like an accent to open it up for them and make its way past their defenses. If you've got an accent, you can get away with saying a lot more to a woman, that's for sure.

Good meal: blue cheese-crusted beef tenderloin with green beans and potatoes au gratin. Small portions but tasty. The seared scallops appetizer came with--get this: TWO SCALLOPS! For $11.00!
