The Start of Something...Big?

First, thanks to Alan, Brian and Neil for their help. The idea to do a site has been percolating for some time, but I really didn't have any real reason to do it. My columns for Comic Book Galaxy and Movie Poop Shoot have been just about the only outlet I've needed. Just about.

So now, with good luck and good timing, I have an opportunity to write some books for a new publisher. Not too hard to figure out who they are, but I'll let them make the announcements. At any rate, I'm very excited about it and you can rest assured that what I lack in experience, I'm trying to make up for in enthusiasm and ambition. But as always, the reader is the judge of that.

As far as this blog goes, I don't see myself adding a ton of content every day. Warren Ellis and others can do that, but then, they make their living as professional comics writers, while I have other responsibilities for much of the day and have enough of a challenge keeping up with the work I have to do, while being a parent and red-hot lover. What I will try to do is use the blog primarily as a work journal, so those who are interested can keep up with what I'm working on. If I'm allowed to post scripts and pencil art and previews and such, I will. So, again, thanks to everyone who helped on such short notice (mere hours, really) to make this site a reality.

P.S. Call this the first entries in a "CA FAQ", but there IS a guy in comics already named Chris Allen. I think he's done some TMNT stuff. Not me. And I would've picked "christopherallen.com" if it was available, but it wasn't. So there.
